That's exactly what we did to Stuart this past weekend. A plan for a surprise graduation party had been in the works for about a month and we pulled it off this past weekend. My parents came into town on Friday to help me with everything. I will tell you, I couldn't have done it without them. I had conspired with some friends and they got Stuart out of the house on Saturday morning by organizing a golf outing (thank you Brian, Eric, and AJ). While he was gone Mom and I ran around and got all the supplies needed for the party. My awesome sister-in-law had been stockpiling a few things at her house for us too so as not to raise any questions. He arrived home about an hour before the festivities were meant to begin and really didn't know what was happening until it was all explained to him. This party was so important to me because I wanted him to know that his big accomplishment did not get lost in all the other excitement/stress in our lives. We had a good crowd and a good time was had by all. Lots of his family from Michigan drove down for the special occasion and all of our closest friends came. Even our two favorite nephews came to help "Uncle Stuter" celebrate earning his MBA. I promise I'll have plenty of pictures soon. I took the night off from being family photographer but my Mom filled in for me so we'll have plenty.
Yesterday was another baby shower for me. I must say that my friend Laura outdid herself on this one. She served some of my favorite snacks and even made my favorite cake. This shower was for all my friends and family that aren't affiliated with either my church or my work. It was so great to see everyone. Most of the people there I had met through Franklin College and 12 years later we're all still friends. Even some of their Mom's came. It was awesome. Of course, Baby Rogers was spoiled with lots of goodies. Tonight, Stuart and I are going to take inventory of what we have and then make a list of the other things we have to have before the big day. We are so grateful to all of our family and friends for making things so special for us with all the big changes happening in our lives. I can't say enough how blessed I feel because you all show your love in so many ways.
I'll get some pics posted in the next couple of days of our exciting weekend. Thanks to all of you who celebrated with us this weekend. Oh, and Stuart still has quite a few letters to go until he catches up with his brilliant wife:0)
