Just another day

Just wanted to share some pictures I took this morning. This week, Noah has been practicing taking naps in his crib. So far, we have made a little progress. He will put himself to sleep in his crib but the longest nap he's taken has been about an hour. Now, if I put him in his swing, he will tend to sleep for much longer periods of time. But, we'll keep trying and eventually he'll get it.

Fall Visits

Hello!!

One of the joys we have in moving to a new place is looking forward to visiting friends and family. Whether it be in our home or at their home, it's always a good time. 2 weeks ago, Noah and I spent the week down in Washington with my parents. It was such a fun week and Noah got to spend lots of time with his cousins Hayden and Brody. We finished up that week by visiting lots of friends and family in Indianapolis including Aunt Stacey and Uncle Mohamed.

This past weekend we had a visit from our dear friends, the Bridges. The weather didn't cooperate for all the activities we had planned but everyone had a great time. The boys got to do some fishing (always a must when Andy and Cameron are together) and the girls got to do some shopping (what we do best). We sure miss all of our family and friends but we love when they come to visit!!!

I love my thumb!!!

Dear Noah...

Dear Noah,

Today I removed the adoption timeline from the side of our blog. It is still absolutely amazing to me what our life looks like now compared to a year ago. Your Daddy and I had all these big plans about what direction our life was about to take but little did we know that God had other plans for us. Last year, at this time, when I envisioned holding you in my arms, I saw a boy with dark hair and eyes who was born in a different part of the world but whom God had given to us to love. Today when I look at you and I see your beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes I am amazed and humbled at what a miracle you are. I cannot describe the joy you have brought to us. I am so happy to be your Mom. You turned 3 months old last week. Lately you have really learned to smile and giggle out loud. I just can't get enough of that gorgeous smile. As I write this, you are sleeping soundly in your swing. I keep telling myself that I am going to make you start taking a nap in your crib. I just can't do it. I love to watch you sleep and see all the sweet expressions on your face. Last week we spent the week with your Grandma and Grandpa down in Washington. We had so much fun and Grandma and Grandpa just think you are the sweetest little man. Everyone we met said what a beautiful baby you were. Daddy and I often look at you and say aloud "how did we create something that cute?" Only God knows. We love you Noah.

Finally!!!

We have a computer!!! So, the job in the next couple of days is to sort through pics and get them posted.

This past week I spent down in Washington with my Mom, Dad, and sister's family. It was so much fun. Noah enjoyed all the extra attention and I enjoyed spending time with my two favorite nephews. They both had birthdays last week. Brody turned 1 and Hayden turned 4. How time flies!!!

At the end of the week, we went back up to Indy to meet Stuart and spend the weekend with Aunt Stacey and Uncle Mohamed. On Saturday we went to a very cold Homecoming football game at the FC and caught up with a lot of our friends. We also managed to sneak in Noah's 3 month pics and some Rogers' family pics. We will have some of those posted very soon.

Back to reality for us this week. We do have some fun visits to look forward to. Our friends, the Bridges, are coming out this week. We are very excited to have them here.

That's all I've got for now. Stay tuned for a lot of pictures!!!

So frustrating

Still no computer at home. So, no pictures to give you yet. Man, are you going to get a full album when I can finally post pictures. Noah is growing and changing so much. He has really found his smile and is just the cutest little guy (I know I'm bragging but I can't help it). Another exciting development...SLEEP!!! In the past week he has slept through the night twice. At most, he has been getting up once during the night. It's awesome. I feel like a new woman. He is still napping in his swing during the day but is sleeping like a champ in his crib at night.
Cameron's fall program was last night. He was a dog on Old Macdonald's farm. It was such a good performance they put on. He did a very good job on the chicken dance. I also took video of that so will be posting that performance (and showing it at his wedding someday).
One of the most exciting things that we've done lately is Skype. Yep, we got a webcam and now we can sit Noah in front of the camera and have a live conversation with Aunty Pam in New Zealand or Mom and Dad in Indiana. It's awesome!!! I can't help but think how awesome that would have been when my Grandparents were still with us. We would have been on that thing twice a day. I am so thankful that even though we are farther away now, they can still watch their grandsons grow and change.
Next week, Noah and I head back to Indiana for a week long visit with friends and family. I can't wait to hang out with my favorite nephews!!! Also, next weekend is Franklin College homecoming. I'm looking forward to catching up with all the old college buddies. It should be a great time. Alright, Noah and Cameron are both in bed and I am going to enjoy some quiet time. Hope all is well with you and yours. We'll keep you posted!!!
